Aniline Leather Restoration Dye

Description

An effective dye for colour restoration of aniline and pull-up style leathers.
Aniline dyes are used during the tanning process for the initial dyeing process and are designed to penetrate absorbent leathers.

Aniline dyes come in 7 colours:
Red, Yellow, Black, Brown, Blue, Green, Orange

Colour mixing is very straight forward for these products but custom mix colours are also available mixed to a sample of leather.

Leather Types

Unfinished leathers, natural leathers, Pull-up leathers (both wax and oil), micro-pigments and some semi-anilines.
Because the range of finishes in these categories is now so wide and there is no standardisation of type it is important to be able to make your own analysis of suitability.

As the product is designed to soak into the surface of the leather it should only be used on absorbent leathers excluding Nubuck and Suede both of which it will permanently damage.

Aniline dye is not a touch up product and will not cover over damage or hide stains.

Applications

Sun fade
Restoration of above types of leather
Shading unmatched panels of absorbent leathers

Please note: TRADE & BULK PRICES ARE AVAILABLE

Instructions

Surfaces to be treated should be clean of physical dirt and be of an absorbent nature.
If a surface is aggressively absorbent then an inhibitor may be required to prevent the dye being 'grabbed' too quickly.
Some surfaces are the opposite and may require wiping with a solvent (use Alcohol Cleaner or Remover 1 for this)
Mix the Aniline dyes to the appropriate shade and apply to the leather with a lint free cloth.
The first coat will dry quickly so it is important to be organised and work in panels at a time. Do not stop work half way through a panel as the edge left will be permanent.
Further coats can be applied and each will darken or intensify the colour. Three coats is usually the maximum after which the product will start to build up on the surface. This should not be allowed to happen.
Allow the product to dry naturally and finish with LTT Finish in a Can.
Tinted Finish in a Can can be used if more depth of colour is required.
